From a very early age, reading to Little C has been a favorite activity for both me and my husband. We read three books before nap and before bedtime everyday. When I see Little C’s face light up as he chooses his three books it melts my heart!
This is the first year he is really into holiday books. Yay, so excited!
I found some Thanksgiving books last minute at Barnes & Noble, but was hesitant to cough up the cash because I did not think he’d be that interested. Wrong! He loved them, so I picked up a few Christmas books here and there while shopping at TJ Maxx and Marshalls.
It’s been a few weeks now and with his Christmas book collection growing, he has his favorites I wanted to share with you!
Uh, how cute is this?!? We love the Llama Llama series in our house, but I honestly had no clue there was “holiday drama” until I found the book at Marshalls. Amazon and Barnes & Noble carry it as well, but I scored this for under $10!
And another favorite I had no idea was spreading the cheer with a Christmas story! Lot’s of Beep! Beep! Beep! in this book and the best part is the light up Christmas tree at the very end. Adorable! Amazon beat the Marshalls price I paid by $2, but either way this book is worth it if you’re kiddo is a Little Blue Truck fan.
Any submariners out there? This book is short and sweet, but because my husband is in the submarine world I had to snag this book for him to read to Little C. Another steal at TJ Maxx for $3.99.
Any “I Love You Stinky Face” fans out there? This I think I like more than the original because it has the word Christmasaurus in it. So cute! Another Marshalls find for $4.99.
I have a soft spot for Curious George because it was my hubby’s favorite when he was a little boy and now our son is beginning to love that curious little monkey too! An extra fun part about this book is the touch-and-feel pages. A cute story and Little C loves checking out all the textures while we’re reading. A TJ Maxx score at $5.99.
Every kiddo needs a “The Night Before Christmas” Book and the illustrations in this book are perfect for toddlers. Snagged it for $4.99 at Marshalls, but Barnes & Noble online is selling it for $4.15.
Although the inventory at Marshalls and TJ Maxx is always changing, you never know what you’ll find and it’s a great place to stock up on kiddo books at reasonable prices. Amazon & Barnes and Noble are always good too, but if you’d rather not spend the $ on holiday books don’t forget about your local library. They have a wonderful selection as well!
As far as storage goes…tuck these books away before the new year and each Christmas they’ll be just as special as this one!
I’d love to hear what your family is reading. Share your holiday reads in the comments when you have a chance.
