Can you believe Father’s Day is this Sunday?!? I’m totally ready with my hubby’s gift that I made by hand all wrapped up in custom wrapping paper I designed and printed myself. If you’re about to close this page because of how disgustingly organized I am, don’t…I’m just kidding! This month has flown by and I am actually shocked that this weekend is Father’s Day! I have a few ideas that I know my hubby will love, but within the next few days I actually need to execute those ideas. 😉 If you’re reading this post my love, don’t sweat it. All will come together on your special day! Anyone in the same last minute “gift boat” as me? If you are, (be honest) here are 10 last minute gift ideas for the Dad or Dads in your life. Yes, Dad, if you’re reading this I did not forget about you either! 🙂
If you look up the definition of “hot mess” in the dictionary you will most likely find a picture of me next to it for the week of June 8th. I have been doing pretty much any and everything other than cooking dinners this week and if you promise not to tell anyone…I’ve loved every second of it! When Monday rolled around I was amped up for this week’s menu right up to the second when plated.com emailed me a reminder about my dishes shipping out. WTF?!? I seriously screwed this up two weeks in a row?!? Oh, yeah. I suuuuuurrrrre did & have triple checked that the next few weeks are on hold! Luckily the shelf life of plated dishes are a good six days so I had some wiggle room with my menu conundrum. On Monday my mom arrived with her BFF and we cooked the Sausage and Peppers Arrabiatta from last weeks menu. Thumbs up from everyone and point for me because one menu item for the week was checked off.
Well, what a week it has been! After writing and posting my first weekly menu I later realized that a delivery from Plated.com was on its way. Grrrr, talk about a wrench in what I thought was a well thought out plan. Luckily, a few minor tweaks had my weekly menu back on track and ready for cookin’! A good chunk of my blog will share the realities of busy mom life, busy family life and how to realistically juggle “it all”. I’m not perfect…not even close. Sharing my mistakes, mixups and mishaps are what I hope bring a little less stress to families feeling overwhelmed. Doing it all is NOT possible nor worth the gray hairs and wrinkles. 😉
